Argus shares up 9.2%

Shares totalling about $1.3 million traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week

Shares of Argus Group were the biggest gainer on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week.

The stock ended the week at $4.38, up 37 cents, or 9.2 per cent, after 41,200 were traded.

Also improving were shares of Butterfield Bank, which edged up to $25.10, five cents higher, or 0.2 per cent, after 40,146 changed hands. On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares closed at $25.10, down 35 cents compared with their closing price the previous Friday.

On the local exchange, Butterfield’s preference shares dropped $24.99, or 2.3 per cent, to close at $1,075 after 43 were exchanged.

Shares of HSBC Holdings improved to $7.55, up five cents, or 0.66 per cent, after 5,000 traded.

The value of shares traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index last week was about $1.3 million. The index closed at 1,617.14, up 9.65 points, or 59 per cent.

The BSX Insurance Index closed at 1,701.15, up 3.84 points, at 0.23 per cent.
