The Bank of Butterfield rose 25 cents, or 0.9 per cent, to $28.50 today in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The move came after 750 shares changed hands.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank went up 81 cents, or 2.79 per cent, to $29.81.

The rest of the day’s trading left the shares involved unchanged.

Financial services holding company Somers stood at $13.75 after 300 shares changed hands.

Insurer Argus remained at $4.75 after 45 shares were traded.

Shipping firm Polaris Holding saw 33 shares trade and its price stayed at $4.05.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 11.24 points, or 0.63 per cent, at 1,791.65.

The BSX Insurance Index closed up 2.87 points or 0.16 per cent at 1,755.42.
