Shares of Bank of Butterfield yesterday rose 90 cents to $32 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 2.9 per cent, came after 1,500 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank was up 79 cents, or 2.5 per cent, at $32.39.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 40.48 points or 2.11 per cent, at 1,958.65.

The BSX Insurance Index closed up 3.87 points, or 0.22 per cent, at 1,774.74.
