The Bank of Butterfield fell 50 cents to $31.50 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The drop, equal to 1.6 per cent, came after 1,814 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank was unchanged at $32.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 22.49 points, or 1.15 per cent, at 1,940.02.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 0.52 points, or 0.03 per cent, at 1,762.44.
