Bank of Butterfield today fell $1.50 to $31 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The drop of 4.6 per cent came as 1,155 shares changed hands.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s share price also fell, down 91 cents, or 2.83 per cent, to $31.29.

Insurance firm BF&M shed 20 cents, or 1 per cent, to finish at $20.80 after 748 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX index closed down 68.99 points, or 3.47 per cent, to 1,917.55.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 49.40 points, or 2.68 per cent, at 1,790.87.
