Utilities firm Ascendant Group gained 35 cents to $7.50 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 4.9 per cent, came after 2,800 shares changed hands.

The Bank of Butterfield remained at $32 after 521 shares moved.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank went up 41 cents, or 1.27 per cent, to $32.60.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 3.38 points, or 0.17 per cent, at 1,960.94.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 7.57 points, or 0.41 per cent, at 1,866.47.
