Butterfield Bank shares closed at $32.75 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, up 75 cents, or 2.3 per cent on the week after 15,031 traded. On the New York Stock Exchange the shares closed at $33.87.

Also improving on the local exchange was Ascendant Group, up five cents, or 0.7 per cent, at $7.20, after 12,594 were exchanged.

Argus Group was down five cents, or 1.1 per cent, at $4.50, after 7,500 shares traded during the week, while HSBC Bermuda lost 50 cents, or 5.81 per cent, to close at $8.10 after 494 shares were exchanged.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed at 1,991.78, up 33.21 points, or 1.66 per cent on the week. The BSX Insurance Index closed at 1,871, down 0.75 points, or 0.04 per cent.
