LOM shares rise 8.7%

Shares of LOM and Argus both shot higher in BSX trading

Financial services firm LOM rose 8.7 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

The broker-dealer closed on $2.50 after 10,000 shares changed hands.

Insurance company Argus also had a good day, rising 27 cents or 6.4 per cent, to $4.50 as 800 shares traded.

The Bank of Butterfield dipped 25 cents to close on $31. The 0.8 per cent fall came as 375 shares were exchanged.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares fell 65 cents, or 2.1 per cent, to $30.36.

Utilities firm Ascendant Group was unchanged at $7.50 as 94 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 4.62 points, or 0.24 per cent, at 1,915.50.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 4.79 points, or 0.26 per cent, at 1,836.34.
