Butterfield shares rise 3.3%

Bank boost: the increase in Butterfield's share price drove The Royal Gazette/BSX Index higher
Bank of Butterfield shares today rose $1 to $31.50 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The 3.3 per cent rise came as 3,200 shares traded.
On the New York Stock Exchange the bank was also up — 55 cents, or 1.74 per cent, to $32.15.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 44.98 points, or 2.37 per cent, at 1,940.43.
The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 16.55 points, or 0.9 per cent, at 1,852.95.
