One Communications and BF&M were the two stocks to trade on the BSX

One Communications remained at $2.50 after 10,000 shares changed hands in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

Insurance firm BF&M stayed at $21 after five shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged at 2,041.35.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield Bank gained 6 cents, or 0.2 per cent, and closed at $33.36.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 7.54 points, or 0.4 per cent, at 1,849.38.

Utilities company Ascendant announced that it would from next Tuesday repurchase up to 200,000 shares, around 2 per cent of its overall listed securities.

The move follows an earlier repurchase programme, which ended yesterday.

Ascendant said the share buyback is designed to improve shareholder liquidity.
