Utilities firm Ascendant Group gained 25 cents to $8.75 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 2.9 per cent, came after 62,000 shares sold.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) gained one cent or 0.1 per cent to $8.51 after 10,000 shares changed hands.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Bank of Butterfield went up three cents, or 0.09 per cent, to $33.16.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 2.42 points, or 0.12 per cent, at 1,991.86.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 5.77 points, or 0.30 per cent, at 1,889.11.
