BAS shares fall 41.7%

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index dropped 17.73 points

Shares of Bermuda Avaition Services Ltd plunged 41.7 per cent, or $1.25 after 9,000 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index. The stock ended the day at $1.75.

Also taking a heavy fall was Ascendant Group, the parent company of Belco, as its shares lost $1.24, or 14.2 per cent, to finish at $7.51 after 1,900 were exchanged.

Devonshire Industries Ltd was 25 cents lower, or 4.5 per cent, at $5.25 after 1,500 traded.

Argus Group dropped five cents, or 1.1 per cent, to $4.45 after 4,500 shares changed hands.

One Communications’ shares were up five cents, or 2.4 per cent, at $2.10 after 1,430 traded.

Butterfield Bank shares improved by one cent to $32.51 after 600 were exchanged, while on the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares ended down 22 cents, or 0.66 per cent, at $33.18.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 17.73 points, or 0.89 per cent, at 1,971.13.

The BSX Index was down 5.46 points, or 0.28 per cent, at 1,920.01.
