The Bank of Butterfield shares gained 35 cents to $34.50 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 1 per cent, came after 1,992 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank dropped 25 cents, or 0.71 per cent, to $34.88.

Insurance firm BF&M remained at $24 after 2,700 shares traded in Bermuda.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 15.67 points, or 0.76 per cent, at 2,079.24.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 6.95 points, or 0.36 per cent, at 1,911.16.
