Four stocks higher on BSX

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed 20.9 points higher last week

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 20.9 points, or 1.05 per cent, last week.

Somers Limited was up 50 cents, or 3.8 per cent, to $13.50 after 5,900 shares traded, while Butterfield Bank shares were 50 cents higher, or 1.6 per cent, to $32.50 after 10,624 were exchanged.

BF&M Ltd improved 15 cents, or 0.7 per cent, to $20.75 after 10,200 share changed hands, and HSBC Holdings were up five cents, or 0.52 per cent, to $9.50 after 10,000 traded.

One Communications fell 15 cents, or 5.5 per cent, to $2.60 after 12,272 shares were exchanged, and Argus Group was 20 cents lower, or 5.1 per cent, to $3.75 after 300 traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank. were up 22 cents, or 0.67 per cent, to $33.10.

The BSX Insurance Index closed at 1,855.63, down 10.55 points, or 0.57 per cent.

The Bermuda Stock Exchange was closed yesterday for the Labour Day holiday.
