Butterfield Bank shares improved by 25 cents, or 0.8 per cent, to $33.25 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

A total of 100 of the banks shares were traded on the local exchange. No other stocks were traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares were up 44 cents, or 1.30 per cent, at $34.25.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose 11.24 points, or 0.56 per cent, to 2,009.49.

The BEX Insurance Index was down 29.94, or 1.6 per cent, at 1,836.92.
