Shares of Somers Ltd were up 50 cents, or 3.6 per cent, to $14.50 after 300 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

A total of 12,200 shares of Ascendant Group, the parent of Belco, were traded, but with no impact on the stock’s closing price. Likewise, some 2,000 shares of Butterfield Bank were exchanged, but with no movement to the closing price of $39.50. On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up by 15 cents, or 0.38 per cent, at $40.14.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 3.33 points, or 0.15 per cent, at 2,294.25. The BSX Insurance Index was 12.83 points higher, or 0.67 per cent, at 1,926.14.
