Ascendant falls 0.1%

Flat trading: Ascendant fell a cent, while all other stocks were unchanged in BSX trading

Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd shed a cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The parent company of power utility Belco was the only stock to change price and fell to $9.99 on the trading of 484 shares.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, the parent company of The Royal Gazette, as well as printing, real estate and retail interests, closed unchanged on $6.15 as 300 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 0.1 of a point to close the week on 2,269.45. Volume totalled 784 shares and turnover was $6.570.96.

During another wild day on Wall Street, Butterfield Bank’s New York-listed shares gained $1.08, or 2.8 per cent, to close on $39.35. Butterfield’s last price on the BSX was $39.

The BSX Insurance Index closed the day on 1,855.39, after a rise of 29.92 points, or 1.6 per cent.
