Butterfield Bank shares improved by 50 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to $44.50 after 1,706 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up 80 cents, or 1.79 per cent, at $45.50.

Meanwhile, on the local exchange, Argus Group Holdings moved up two cents, or 0.5 per cent, to $3.92 after 1,000 shares were exchanged.

Shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, the owner of The Royal Gazette, improved by one cent, or 0.2 per cent, to $6.16 after 4,000 traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 22.9 points, or 0.92 per cent, at 2,501.91.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 2.16 points, or 0.11 per cent, at 1,903.04.
