Butterfield shares gain 25 cents

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 0.45 per cent

LOM Financial Ltd was the most actively traded stock on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

The investment firm was unchanged on $2.50 as 40,000 of its shares changed hands. Butterfield Bank gained 25 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to close on $45 as 1,067 shares traded. The bank’s US-listed shares fell 26 cents, or 0.57 per cent, to close on $45.63 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Butterfield’s gain was enough for The Royal Gazette/BSX Index to climb 11.24 points, or 0.45 per cent, to close on 2,526.9.

Trading volume was 41,067 shares and turnover totalled $150,015.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 0.22 of a point to close on 1,879.52.
