Somers falls 6% on BSX

Two stocks lost ground in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading

Shares of Somers Ltd fell more than 6 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The financial-services holding company, which owns Bermuda Commercial Bank, fell by $1, or 6.2 per cent, to close on $15.25 as 1,576 shares changed hands.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd was the only other stock to trade. The insurer’s shares fell ten cents, or 2.4 per cent, to close on $4, as 11,800 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 8.65 points, or 0.3 per cent, to close on 2,866.4. Trading volume totalled 14,026 shares and turnover was $77,335.

In New York, Butterfield Bank’s US-listed shares gained 24 cents, or 0.46 per cent, to close on $51.95.
