BSX Index gains more than 1%

One Communications and Ascendant Group saw substantial trading on the BSX but their prices remained unchanged

Butterfield Bank climbed as BF&M fell in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

Butterfield gained 75 cents, or 1.5 per cent, to close on $52 as 1,210 shares changed hands.

BF&M slipped 15 cents, or 0.9 per cent, to close on $17 as 500 shares were traded.

One Communications Ltd generated the greatest trading activity, with 13,367 shares changing hands as the telecoms group remained unchanged on $3.15.

Ascendant Group was also actively traded, but also remained unchanged on $16.50 as 9,584 shares were exchanged.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index added 32.58 points, or 1.13 per cent, to close on 2,913.19. Trading volume was 24,661 shares, while turnover totalled $270,591.33.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 13.69 points, or 0.81 per cent, to close on 1,681.47.
