The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged on 2,377.25 on a day when no stocks traded.

Butterfield Bank gained strongly in New York trading, with its US-listed shares gaining $1.07, or 2.74 per cent, to close on $40.13.

Bermudian re/insurance companies surged, causing the BSX Insurance Index to climb 29.09 points, or 1.95 per cent, to close on 1,518.39.

Argo Group was among the top gainers, climbing 3.2 per cent, while Chubb gained 2.7 per cent and both Maiden Holdings and Essent gained 2.3 per cent.
