West Hamilton shares fall on BSX

More than 21,000 Ascendant Group shares changed hands on the BSX

Shares of West Hamilton Holdings Ltd took a tumble on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

The property developer and manager fell 31 cents, or 7.6 per cent, to close on $3.75 as 2,500 shares changed hands.

The only other stock to trade was Ascendant Group Ltd, owner of electricity utility Belco, which remained unchanged on $17 as 21,169 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 0.42 of a point to close the day on 2,076.92. For the week, the index was down 3.4 per cent, driven mainly by a 4.7 per cent fall in Butterfield Bank shares.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield’s US-listed shares fell 97 cents, or 2.9 per cent, to close the day on $32.93.

The BSX Insurance Index slipped 10.93 points, or 0.72 per cent, to close on 1,497.07.
