Shares of Ascendant Group fell by 15 cents, or 0.9 per cent, to $16.75 after 4,900 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There was also trading of 9,300 shares of Butterfield Bank, but with no change to the closing price of $31. In New York, the bank’s shares were down 77 cents, or 2.41 per cent, at $31.12.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 1.45 points, or 0.07 per cent, at 1,957.92.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 20.54 points, or 1.4 per cent, at 1,451.77.
