Butterfield Bank shares improved 65 cents, or 1.6 per cent, to $41 after 3,300 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up 23 cents, or 0.56 per cent, at $41.23.

Meanwhile, on the local exchange, 5,000 shares of Ascendant Group Ltd, and 5,000 shares of One Communications Ltd, were exchanged, but with no change to the closing prices of either stock.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 29.23 points, or 1.21 per cent, at 2,454.64, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 2.74 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 1,522.58.
