Bank of Butterfield shares improved $1, or 2.9 per cent, to $35 after 5,227 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

In New York, the bank’s shares were up 21 cents, or 0.59 per cent, at $35.63.

On the local exchange shares of Argus Group Holdings Ltd rose two cents, or 0.7 per cent, to $3.06 after 20,000 changed hands, while Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd fell 10 cents, or 1.5 per cent, to $6.40 after 900 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was 45.24 points, or 2.10 per cent, higher at 2,198.56.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 6.43 points, or 0.4 per cent, at 1,618.64.
