Bermuda Press Holdings shares surge 25%

Shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd leapt 25 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.BPHL, the owner of The Royal Gazette and commercial printing, real estate and retail interests, surged $1.60 to close on $8, the company’s highest closing share price in more than 2½ years. Five hundred shares were traded.BF&M also saw double-digit percentage gains as its shares gained $1.88, or 10.2 per cent, to close on $20.24 as 3,243 shares changed hands.Butterfield Bank also gained ground, edging six cents, or 0.2 per cent higher, to close on $33.81 on the trading of 4,104 shares.Butterfield’s US-listed shares fell 29 cents, or 0.84 per cent, to close on $34.04 on the New York Stock Exchange.Argus Group Holdings Ltd was the most heavily traded stock on the BSX. The insurer shed one cent, or 0.4 per cent, to close on $2.56, as 8,241 shares traded.Two thousand shares of Polaris Holding Co Ltd, owner of Hamilton docks operator Stevedoring Services, also changed hands. Polaris closed unchanged on $8.95.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index added 18.97 points, or 0.86 per cent, to close on 2,221.01.The BSX Insurance Index edged higher by 0.64 of a point to close on 1,727.11.
