Shares of Butterfield Bank fell 3.9 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.The bank fell $1.10 to close on $26.90 as 239 shares changed hands. It was a second successive sharp fall for the index’s largest constituent, following Butterfield’s 5.9 per cent drop on Tuesday in the wake of the US Federal Reserve’s half-point rate cut.On Wall Street, Butterfield’s US-listed shares also slid, falling 49 cents, or 1.78 per cent, to close on $27.05.There was heavy trading in One Communications Ltd. The telecoms group’s shares remained unchanged on $3.75 as 23,464 shares were traded.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 49.49 points, or 2.53 per cent, to close on 1,903.91.The BSX Insurance Index surged 55.05 points, or 3.3 per cent, to close on 1,720.71.Share volume totalled 23,703, while turnover was $94,415.20.
