Shares of Butterfield Bank fell 0.4 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.The bank dipped ten cents on the trading of 700 shares to close on $26.80. Butterfield was the only stock to trade on the BSX.Butterfield’s US-listed shares had a miserable day amid a broad-based crash on Wall Street, falling $3.98, or 15.49 per cent, to close on $21.72. Trading volume of 445,014 shares was more than double the recent average, according to data supplied by Yahoo Finance.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 4.5 points, or 0.24 per cent, to close on 1,897.51.The BSX Insurance Index plummeted by 114.25 points, or 6.98 per cent, to end a dismal day on 1,522.52.
