Telecoms firm Digicel has increased its mobile phone fee by $2.15 to $9.50 per month.

The move came after government increased fees as part of the annual Budget, something that will affect customers with all carriers.

Digicel said the increase went into effect at the start of April — but that it had delayed passing it on to customers to provide some notice.

For prepaid customers, the increase will take effect from today, while postpaid customers’ fees will increase from the start of May.
