Citywealth honours four Appleby lawyers

Delighted: Tim Faries, Bermuda managing partner for Appleby

A total of four lawyers from Appleby have been honoured with spots on a leaders list compiled by a business magazine.

Appleby partners Vanessa Schrum and Keith Robinson, counsel Michael Mello QC and senior associate Ashley Fife were all singled out for their “outstanding” work in the Citywealth poll.

Ms Schrum was also recognised in the Power Women category and Appleby has more lawyers on the list than any other legal firm on the island.

Tim Faries, Bermuda managing partner, said: “We are very proud to continue to make the Citywealth Leaders List each year.

“This recognition is a testament to our leadership position and exceptionally strong team who are committed to their craft and clients.”

The Citywealth list is compiled from recommendations from private wealth managers and advisers and from clients.

Ms Schrum is group head of the private client and trusts department and Mr Robinson works in dispute resolution.

Mr Mello is counsel in the private client and trusts team, where Mr Fife also works.

Appleby also announced that it had appointed Lynn Capie as global communications manager, to be based in the firm’s Jersey office.

Ms Capie joins Appleby from RBS International, where she was head of communications.

Michael O’Connor, group managing partner at Appleby, said: “Our brand is globally recognised and we are delighted to have recruited a team member who can help us differentiate our brand from the increasingly competitive environment in the offshore world.”
