Return of the Bermuda sneaker

Back to the future: the adidas Bermuda

Sneaker giants adidas is to bring back a retro design — with a Bermuda touch.

The adidas Bermuda sneaker, first seen in the 1970s, has been reborn as part of the company’s Originals range of classics.

According to sneaker websites, the design will first be seen in a brown and light brown suede finish “that’s more like off-white” with cream laces and darker brown sole.

Another version is in brown and tan, with the darker tones used for laces, the trademark triple stripe and the heel tab.

Adidas is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe and the second biggest in the world.

During the mid-to-late 1990s, adidas divided the brand into three main groups with each a separate focus.

Adidas Performance was designed for modern sport, while adidas Originals, which uses the traditional three-leaf company logo, was designed to focus on the brand’s earlier designs which remain a popular lifestyle icon and Style Essentials, concentrates on the fashion market.
