An Appleby lawyer is to speak at a major conference on trusts in Spain.

Keith Robinson, a partner in the firm, will join a panel at the International Contentious Trusts Conference to be held in Barcelona next week.

Mr Robinson will speak on the mechanisms used by some offshore jurisdictions to ensure that trust structures are set up only by those who have legitimate riches and wealth planning objectives.

He said: “Representing Bermuda at such a fantastic conference is a privilege, and I look forward to my panel discussion. Bermuda continues to show that it is ahead of the pack in terms of trust law reform and the quality of its trust industry. I look forward to sharing that message in Barcelona.”

Mr Robinson is an expert in the field of high value trust disputes and restructurings, often with a multi-jurisdictional element.

He has been involved in many of the major trust cases heard on the island in the last few years and has written and spoken on Bermuda trust law at home and abroad.
