Bennett awarded $5,000 scholarship

Israel Bennett has received a $5,000 scholarship from Conyers Dill & Pearman

Conyers Dill & Pearman has granted its annual scholarship award of $5,000 to CedarBridge Academy student Israel Bennett.

The award aims to recognise both academic and voluntary contributions made by graduating students at the high school.

The law firm said Ms Bennet was a highly accomplished individual and a natural choice for the scholarship award due to her active engagement in leadership and citizenship volunteer activities. She has taken part in volunteer projects around the island, and was nominated for the outstanding teen award for community service.

Ms Bennet excelled in a number of subjects such as mathematics. She has been a prefect since 2015 at the CedarBridge Academy, and has plans to study at St Mary’s university in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Head of Human resource at Conyers Dill & Pearman, Lisa Spencer-Arscott, said: “We were so impressed by Israel Bennett and her dedication to her education and her school community. She has overcome many obstacles but never lost sight of her goals. She is an inspiration to all”.

Conyers began awarding scholarships to CedarBridge students in 2003, and since that time has awarded nearly $70,000 in scholarships.
