A Bermudian living in New Jersey plans to launch an app next year to give individuals an outlet to be heard.

Marcus Smith, a graphic designer by trade, created Audiyoo, which is a social media application that allows users to create, add voice effects, edit, listen, applaud and share short audio clips with friends and people around the world.

Mr Smith said the app gives everyday people a chance to create and be heard.

Users can listen on the go and it provides the opportunity for audio to be made social. Individuals can also share the content on multiple social media outlets.

He believes this is a great platform for content creators, like storytellers, talk-show hosts, musicians, comedians and everyday people who want to engage with their audience and tell a story.

“I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I’ve always been interested in mobile apps,” he said.

The idea to create this app came to him ten years ago when he decided to introduce something of his own that provides an opportunity for others to create.

“One of my fondest memories involves sound,” he said. “It was the day I heard my son’s heartbeat for the first time, I remember the excitement and happiness I felt while listening and I wanted to share it with my friends and family but didn’t really have an outlet that focused on making audio clips social. Audiyoo gives people that chance.”

Mr Smith has been working on the app for two years now and he is looking to launch the app in the Apple store within the first quarter of 2018.

Audiyoo will be free in the IOS App and Android play stores with the option to make in app purchases.

The app will also be available worldwide in multiple languages.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to give creators an outlet to create and be heard,” he said.
