Guidance to individuals trying to successfully navigate the business world is shared by Bermudian-based author Rod Farrington in his latest book.

Mr Farrington has been writing novels for over a decade, however this is his first nonfiction, self-help motivational book. It is titled The Average Joe’s Guide To Success.

“Just because you’re average doesn’t mean you have to accept less,” he said.

“As an average Joe myself I discuss my own life’s journey in the world of business and how I have successfully competed with the overachievers in the workforce. I also offer two unique perspectives to help the readers develop their own road map to success.”

The second perspective is from an “average Joe” who is now a seasoned veteran in the business world, who is confirming what businesses are looking for in employees to be successful.

Mr Farrington believes the guide to success is predicated on the readers having the inner drive and the willingness to work hard to achieve their goals.

And he feels the guide will help provide readers with the building blocks and aspiration to get out of their comfort zone, level the playing field, and compete for those better-paying jobs and promotions.

“As I say life is an adventure, and the average Joes and Josies can do better than they think.”

This is Mr Farrington’s twelfth book, the previous eleven were adventure novels, mostly set in Bermuda. His motivation to write this kind of book came from a desire to give back to others.

“This is my way of helping those who have either given up on success, or want to succeed in business but aren’t sure what direction to go,” he said.

His hope is that people will get a sense of reassurance from reading my book.

“Life is an adventure. Believe in yourself and success will find you.”

As for his own future, he has not planned out his next book, adding that the books find him.

Mr Farrington will be signing copies of his new book at Gorham’s, on St John’s Road, Pembroke, on Sunday from noon to 5pm.
