A technology specialist involved in one of the world’s leading artificial intelligence efforts is coming to Bermuda to speak about the AI revolution.

Rob High is chief technology officer at IBM Watson. He has been announced as a keynote speaker for the GR Innovation & Insurtech event in November.

IBM Watson is a supercomputer that combines artificial intelligence and analytical software that gives it remarkable “question answering” abilities.

Mr High will share insights into working at a company that has become a global leader in AI, and discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence.

Questions around ethics, the team behind IBM Watson, and how training machine learning models are built using less data, or data that is not yet ordered in a useable format, will be discussed at the event, which is presented by Global Reinsurance with Hamilton Insurance Group the lead sponsor.

Mr High, an IBM Fellow, has responsibility to drive Watson technical strategy and thought leadership. At the event on November 19, he will also give insights on how AI technology can be applied to risk, insurance and reinsurance.

The inaugural GR Innovation & Insurtech event in Bermuda last November attracted 150 delegates and 30 international speakers. This year’s event is at Rosewood Bermuda.
