Deloitte to host financial crime symposium

Fincial crime focus: Rachelle Frisby, partner in financial advisory Deloitte Bermuda

Deloitte Bermuda will present a financial crime symposium this week at the Tradewinds Auditorium at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

Topics to be discussed will include cyber and financial crime and new compliance demands.

The event will take place on Friday. Registration and a continental breakfast start in the lobby of BUEI at 8am.

After a brief welcome from the organisers at 8.45am, Bruce Law and Allyson Lang of the Bermuda Monetary Authority will kick off the event with a keynote address with the status of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force mutual evaluation review and future national risk assessments.

Sian Dalrymple of Butterfield Bank, Jane Lewis of Horseshoe Group and Suzanne Williams of Abir will take part in a panel discussing challenges of a compliance officer.

Alexi von Keszycki, managing director in the regulatory and risk practice of Deloitte, will speak on managing emerging anti money-laundering risks related to virtual currency and digital assets in an evolving regulatory environment. Michael Shepard, global financial crime leader at Deloitte, will join a chat on the future of financial crime and cyber in the financial-services industry.

Closing remarks will take place at 12:45pm.
