The $1,500 raised by LOM Financial’s Christmas staff raffle has been donated to Family Centre.Every year, the investment firm donates the raffle proceeds to a charity that has touched the heart of one of its employees. Lekeia Robinson chose the Family Centre this year. “Besides all the important work and service they give this community, this charity has personally touched my family,” Ms Robinson said. “My son, Kaleyo James, was a member of the Berkeley Institute 2018-2019 champion rugby team. The Family Centre played a huge part, in conjunction with the Beyond Rugby programme. “Kaleyo did extremely well within the programme, becoming Player of the Year 2019. With that acknowledgement he received a $500 scholarship, as well he was one of the students whom the Family Centre sponsored on a missionary trip to Malawi, Africa along with Bermuda Overseas Mission.“Without them, this amazing opportunity may not have been possible. I want to personally thank Deneca Zuill and Elizabeth Francis for all their love and support they provided not only my son, but to all the young men apart of the Beyond Rugby programme.”• This article has been updated to correct the names in the photograph caption
