Virtual event to connect and assist entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs, small business owners and company leaders are encouraged to attend a Bermudian-staged two-day virtual event that will be hosted by award-winning author and TED speaker Jared Kleinert.The event is called “Deep Dive” and is a partnership between Mr Kleinert’s Meeting of the Minds group and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation. It will feature speakers with success tips and experiences to share, and be a place for networking, brainstorming, learning and collaborating.It is aimed at entrepreneurs, chief executive officers, or small business owner “with high-integrity products and services, and you are willing to contribute to the success of others”.Mr Kleinert is an entrepreneur, and has been dubbed “Most Connected Millennial” by USA Today. He is no stranger to the island, having hosted the first Meeting of the Minds gathering outside the United States, in Bermuda in 2018. That network brings together successful individuals who also meet for retreat-type experiences.He has also spoken at sell-out events on the island, and was co-founder of the Bermuda Entrepreneurship Summit last November.The Deep Dive takes place on October 10 and 11, and issues it will cover include mindset training to diversifying business models, improving sales, marketing, and personal branding.Participants will be introduced to entrepreneurs from outside of Bermuda who will be guest teachers. Organisers said the goal is for participants to walk away with a step-by-step plan for taking immediate action to stabilise and grow their business despite the pandemic. The event will feature Jeff Bonaldi, founder and CEO of The Explorer’s Passage, an adventure travel company that “partners with the world’s greatest explorers on expeditions across our planet”. The eco-tourism provider’s corporate clients include Google, Pepsi, KPMG, BNP Paribas, and Shell.Also taking part in the virtual event is Rachael Bozsik, an international keynote speaker and thought leadership coach “with a mission and focus on empowering entrepreneurial women especially to position themselves as world-class thought leaders and public figures in their niche via press, paid speaking and partnerships”.Mindfulness and stress reduction practices for navigating the Covid-19 pandemic and recession will be presented by Shannan Slevin, founder of WellFests and co-founder of Showga. She is described as a leading expert in driving individual and organisational wellbeing, and has worked with the likes of Adobe, Pinterest, and Martha Stewart. She has had her work featured in publications including The New York Times and Time Out magazine.Bermuda will also be represented by entrepreneurs, including Mikaela Ian Pearman, a marketing and video expert “who teaches womenpreneurs with no time about how to create, organise, and implement marketing strategies to grow their brands online”. She has extensive experience in media, communications and marketing, and has previously worked for The Royal Gazette, Bermuda Sun, and the 35th America’s Cup.Elizabeth Blankendal, hailed as one of Bermuda’s most promising young entrepreneurs, will also to feature at Deep Dive. She is a former corporate attorney and successful entrepreneur “who has grown a first class event planning and design brand known as EETTAFEL”.
