Another man charged with Stovell murder

A third man has appeared in court in connection with the fatal shooting of Lorenzo Stovell.

Malachai Brown, 28, of Sandys, is accused of murdering Mr Stovell on September 23, 2012, outside a Sandys bar.

He also faces a further charge of using a firearm to commit the offence.

Mr Brown was not required to plea in Magistrates’ Court yesterday as the matter must be heard by Supreme Court. He was remanded into custody.

Meanwhile, during yesterday’s arraignments session at Supreme Court, Zakai Cann and Cordova Simons-Marshall denied charges over Mr Stovell’s death.

Mr Cann, 26, of Sandys, pleaded not guilty to Mr Stovell’s murder, as well as using a firearm to commit the offence.

Mr Simons-Marshall, 26, of Sandys, denied handling a Smith & Wesson pistol after the shooting and helping Mr Cann conceal the gun. Both men were remanded in custody until the June arraignments session when a trial date is expected to be set.
