Smith’s woman denies cannabis offences

A 21-year-old woman has denied importing 166.22 grams of cannabis resin and possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, Ashanti Trott, from Smith’s, pleaded not guilty to the offences which allegedly took place in St George’s on December 9 last year.

The court heard that the drugs would have had a street value of $16,622.

Ms Trott elected to be tried in Magistrate’s Court and a trial date was set for September 1.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe set bail at $5,000 with one like-surety.
