Man charged with St George’s robbery

A man has been charged with the robbery of a St George’s jewellery store last week.

Kenneth Wade, 20, of St George’s, is facing two counts in connection to the June 22 robbery of Vera P Card, including robbing the store of jewellery and $587 in cash and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

At Magistrates’ Court today, prosecutors alleged that he was one of three men involved in the robbery.

He was reportedly arrested on the same day that the offence took place.

Because the matter must be heard by the Supreme Court, he was not required to enter a plea.

Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe released Mr Wade on $20,000 bail with a like surety on the conditions that he wear an electronic monitoring device, regularly report to the Southside Police Station and avoid all contact with prosecution witnesses.

Mr Wade will return to the courts for the August arraignments session.
