Man denies string of child sex charges

A Pembroke man has denied 11 charges of sexual activity with a female under the age of 16.

The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces six counts of counselling the girl into making child pornography, three counts of receiving oral sex from her, one count of knowingly showing her offensive material and one count of communicating electronically with her for the purpose of committing unlawful carnal knowledge.

All incidents are alleged to have taken place between March 25 and May 6 this year.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released the man yesterday on $10,000 bail with a like surety, and ordered him to have no contact with the complainant.

The defendant will return to Magistrates’ Court for trial on February 24.
