Man pleads guilty to Paget burglary

A St George’s man is behind bars after admitting robbing a Paget resident of cash and bank cards.

Robert Green admitted a series of charges relating to a break-in on January 30 at a Highwood Lane property. He then robbed the occupant of his ATM cards, house keys and $500 cash while holding him against his will.

At Supreme Court arraignments this week Green, 38, was remanded in custody after pleading guilty to burglary with intent, robbery, and deprivation of liberty. He admitted taking a motorcycle without consent on the same date and stealing $3,000 in cash belonging to the victim from ATMs in Pembroke, Paget and Warwick.

Green also pleaded guilty to an earlier burglary on the same road in Paget on January 29 during which he stole $1,500. Judge Carlisle Greaves ordered that pre-sentence reports as well as a substance abuse report be completed before he is sentenced. Green is likely to appear at Supreme Court on April 1 when a sentencing date will be set.
