Man charged with attempted murder

A Pembroke man has been charged with attempted murder and firearm offences during an appearance in Magistrates Court.

Gavaska Lodge-Bascome, 22, was charged with attempted murder, having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and handling a firearm while committing an indictable offence.

All of the charges were said to have occurred in Pembroke on Monday.

Mr Lodge-Bascome, who was represented in court by Marc Daniels, was not required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard by the Supreme Court. He remained silent throughout proceedings.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded the defendant into custody until the June 1.
