Pembroke man granted conditional discharge

A 22-year-old Pembroke man has been given a 12-month conditional discharge for possessing marijuana and MDMA.

Tyrone Oswald Jr pleaded guilty to the charges, which stem from an arrest on October 7, 2016, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court on April 5.

The court heard at the time that Oswald was stopped by police while on his motorcycle on Frog Lane in Devonshire.

During a subsequent search, items later determined to be cannabis and MDMA were found in his wallet.

Pre-sentencing reports were ordered by magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.

Mr Tokunbo granted the discharge today on the condition that Oswald abstain from the use of drugs and alcohol and that he comply with any recommendations from the Department of Court Services.
