Man charged with cocaine offences

A 22-year-old Jamaican was today charged with conspiring with others to import a kilogram of cocaine into Bermuda.

Dwayne George Watson was also accused in Magistrates’ Court of possessing the drugs worth $240,350 with intent to supply in St George’s on January 1.

Mr Watson, from Mavis Bank in Saint Andrew, was not required to enter a plea because the charges must be heard in Supreme Court.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Mr Watson on $150,000 bail on the condition that he provide a local address, surrender his passport, not leave Bermuda without permission of the courts and report to police three times a week.

The case was adjourned to the October arraignments session.
