A 34-year-old man was banned from the roads for 18 months yesterday after he admitted drink driving.

Henry Santucci, of Sandys, pleaded guilty at Magistrates’ Court to riding a motorbike while two-and-a-half times over the legal alcohol limit.

The court heard Santucci was stopped by police on Middle Road at about midnight on Saturday. He told police he had drank “six Elephants” when questioned.

A breath test showed 206 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80/100.

Santucci made an apology and said: “It will never happen again.”

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Santucci $1,200 and disqualified him from driving for 18 months.
