Police officer accused of sexual assault

A police officer denied a charge of sexual assault in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The 24-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to the offence, which allegedly took place in Pembroke on December 5.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe released the defendant on $5,000 bail.

The matter is expected to return to the court on April 22.
